Week #36 100WC - Sascha

Cold, lost, scared, hungry, alone. Nothing to disturb her she was surrounded by the screaming wind and thrashing rain.  The freezing cold air was seeping through her worn clothes. Darkness fell, it was pitch black, She found some shelter underneath a nearby bridge, the stop and go lights by her were the only lights, giving her enough light to see where she was. She reached into her pocket to grab the food she’d stolen earlier, that's how she got there. She heard footsteps, and a light was coming her way.   “That's when I knew I should run,” she told me later.

Week #36 100WC - William

A molotov was thrown over the barrier heading towards us. That's when I knew I should run. I ran as fast as I could. It blew up and it blew up with 3 of my mates  as they looked like  ragdolls flying through the sky with fire engulfing them. I knew they were dead I looked away in terror as they dropped to the sandy ground. I filled with rage, tears filled my eyes slowly as I listened to my sergeant as he gave me orders I had to follow and if I didn't follow them I would lose my own life.

Week #37 100WC - Laughlin

I was lost in an ancient temple with Viola, we were trying to find a way out . It was becoming dark. We walked for hours and we needed some rest. I searched for somewhere to sleep, I saw a door with vines all around it. I clenched the handles and pulled it open, inside was full of gold and old coins. I wasn't that surprised but I didn't think we would make it out alive so I didn't tell viola. I headed back and told her I didn't find anywhere to sleep so we had to sleep on the  ground

Week #37 100WC - Te Aroha

We lost our daughter Viola. She went for a walk in the woods. She is ancient to me like a block of gold. We have been searching for her all night and day. The night vision goggles are gone missing as well as her clothes and we are scared that we won't find her. When we came back home to see if she might have come back, we found a note.

“Return the money

if you want to see

Viola alive again”

The note was from a guy named Geoff Harris. But we dont know what money he's talking about.

Week #37 100WC - Shilah

One dark cold night Viola was lost in the ancient woods. She was all by herself, well that's what she thought. You can never be certain when you're in the woods, especially the ancient woods. There can be all kinds of creatures or even people, but who knows? She decided  to search around to find her way home, but she just got even more lost.

“What do I do? How do I get home?” she screamed in frustration. She tripped, but she didn't trip over a rock or a stick but she tripped over gold that was deep underground. She decided to look deeper in. The next minute she came tumbling down. bang.

Week #37 100WC - Oliver

I had started to walk slowly into the gold mine I was looking for an ancient treasure. I jumped into a mine cart and went down the trail. It finally came to a halt. I hopped out… I searched for the treasure. Faintly I heard the distant sound of a viola and I started to follow the sound. But I was lost… I kept looking frantically for the way out. I couldn’t find the way I came in. Suddenly the thought came into my mind that I might never get out. I think I might die here in the mine alone starving...

Week #37 100WC - Mason

“How long do we have to go? We have searched for ages,” Tom said as I was cutting down the jungle leaves in front of us.
“Doesn’t matter how long it takes, it's the Gold Viola of Exegol.”
When I glanced at my map I realized it was right behind the trees, I think Tom realized my surprise because we both started looking at an opening of the trees. We couldn’t believe we had found the lost viola, the ancient instrument, the powerful viola of music. Right in front of us, for ours to keep and for ours to hold.

Week #37 100WC - Lydia

“I didn't mean to!”  Viola spoke. “You went and stole gold, you think that was a mistake, wow good job,” the office lady said sarcastically. They took innocent Viola to the police station in handcuffs. They finally arrived at the station after an hour and a half drive. They threw Viola into the ancient prison cell and Viola searched the room just in case there was anything suspicious.

The police officers finally found the truth about the lost gold.  Viola was innocent and didn’t steal the gold.  They found out that it wasn't her. But who was the mysterious person...?

Week #37 100WC - Luke

There is this explorer. She goes into the jungle to find the lost treasure made out of the best gold you will ever see and her name is Viola. For years and years she searched to find this treasure. She had to go through snakes, spiders and even crocodiles and finally she found it - the lost Ancient Pyramid. The pyramid was made out of gold not something made of gold in a chest.

It took her 5 years to find this treasure but sadly she died one month after finding the pyramid.  She will be remembered.

Week #37 100WC - Journey

Viola, Will and Alex were best friends and they wanted to go on an adventure to search for the deep ancient ruins hidden in the jungle. So they packed their bags and set off. They searched rapidly before it got dark and they did eventually find it.

Will decides to go first, he runs in and disappears with a screech. In a blink of an eye Alex follows and is fine, but to his amazement he sees a pile of gold. He calls Viola and when they pick the gold up they discover it was the lost Gold of Angkor.

Week #37 100WC - Joel

$1,000,000 is a lot of money! That's roughly two gold bricks and guess who all that money? The one, the only VIOLA!

*Before she found the money*

*PANT* *PANT* After witnessing a cleanup for a murder, she ran back home and slept on the thought of someone in Ashtenburn killing a innocent man. When she woke up she told her parents what happened. They were dumbfounded. They went straight to the police but the police didn’t believe her.  She didn’t know why until she looked at the face of the man at the front desk and she realised that she was staring directly at the killer.

Week #37 100WC - Denni

Tonight I am allowed to go outside until I am tired. This is such a change, but it is my 13th birthday. Mum had hidden some gold pieces for me to find in the garden. I hope I find them.

“Viola, are you almost ready for bed?” yelled Mum.

“Coming in now.”

I headed in and once I got inside my mum said that I had the most ancient family in the whole world but actually she just says that to make me happy. She does that every year and it makes me happy to hear her be happy. She’s amazing.

Week #37 100WC - Caspar

Antonio and Francisco are brothers that have searched for the lost temple of Kozuzo for years. They have traveled through the thick, lush, Peruvian jungle, yet to their disappointment they still haven't found the temple of Kozuzo. One day the two brothers came across a small stone pillar lined in gold, they had found the temple! Ancient pillars five metres high, balconies lined in gold!  They saw a golden viola surrounded by gold, goblets and gems, they grabbed it, the ground rumbled, they'd set off a trap!  They ran out of the temple as it crumbled behind them! They had escaped.

Week #37 100WC - Camryn

I look up from my book realsing my mum has stopped practising on her viola.

“Come here Camryn,” she calls loudly. “I found a picture of your great great grandmother .” She shows me a very old picture.

“She looks ancient,” I say.

The picture has dust and all kinds of germs on it, it is so dusty that you can’t even see the gold rim on the canvas. In the very old photo of my great great grandmother I notice she is looking around.

“She looks very lost,”  I say to Mum. “I think she is searching for someone.”

Week #37 100WC - Alex

Nile and Seth are best friends. They lived in Egypt. Nile reads many books about the ancient pyramid of Unas. Their goal is to find the pyramid of Unas. Day and night they rode their camels across Egypt. One day they came across a big pyramid, they had found it. They tied their camels to the pyramid pillar. All they knew about the pyramid was it had a lot of traps and gold. They searched all night until they found it, it was a big chest. There was a viola on top of heaps of gold and jewelry.

Week #37 100WC - Grace

Sweat drips off my hands as I walk on the gold stage, my viola up by my chin. The rest I can't remember, my mind only comes back when I hear the sound of multiple people clapping. It is the best night, until I lose it. Tears form in my eyes as I can hear the voice of my father at my 8th birthday saying you’re ancient! That just makes me even sadder.  My dad was the person who introduced me to the viola. It upset me so much that he would never be able to hear me play it again.

Week #37 100WC - Mikayla

Today I went to a forest, I went there because people always find something there. Once a man tripped over a gold viola and took it home. I lost my keys one day in this forest and searched everywhere but I couldn't find them, so I had to make another key with my spare key I have, just in case I lose them again. When I was walking in the forest today there was something lining a tree. I picked it up and took it home, it was an ancient vase, so we decided to take it to a museum.

Week #37 100WC - Olivia

The viola played in the living  room, distant and quiet. Mama had warned me against venturing in Popa’s house. It was haunted, she had said. But it was fine, I had done it many times. A glint of gold pulled me from my thoughts. It looked ancient. I searched for a clue as to what it might be.  Maybe it was lost. An Aztec treasure? Or a doubloon? I searched around, but had to dash quickly back into my room, the gold stuffed up my jacket sleeve. Bags packed we walked out the door. The mystery had only just begun.

Week #37 100WC - Ruby

As I searched through the attic, I discovered many ancient objects. Grandpa said I could take anything I wanted. ”It was junk.” But I disagreed. There were lost books buried in dust, and an old oak rocking horse. I even found an old viola, with a few broken strings, but it could still be put to good use. I’ve always wanted to play an instrument. Then, I spotted it. Glimmering in the small spot of sunlight, was something shiny. I was mesmerized. I sauntered over to it, excitement bubbling inside me. I reached out to touch it. It was gold

Week #37 100WC - Sascha

One gloomy night, Viola went looking for an escape; an escape from her parents, bad news, just everything! She had her night vision goggles on, she could see everything as plain as day, but everything was in shades of green and black. She searched for anything new, she had a golden eye, she was looking for something different. The ancient trees surrounded her. She felt lost in the moment. The glorious trees, the sound of the wind and the fresh air around her, nothing to disturb this moment. Or so she thought. She didn't know what she was getting herself into.

Week #37 100WC - William

We searched far and wide over uncharted seas for the lost, ancient chest. The locals on Hookway Island call it the Reapers Chest which is in the western sea. Never has pirates like us tried their luck to search and obtain such a beauty of a chest. They say that if you search for an island called The Reapers Hideout in the Northern Sea, then you will meet a gold hoarder, who is known for his viola playing.  He will buy the chest and they say his offer of gold will be more than you’ll ever need.

Week #36 100WC - Grace

Pulling into the worn out gravel car park, the bright bunch of flowers Clenched in my hand, I started walking to my mother’s grave. The graveyard was empty , so I felt safer in a way. Placing the flowers down out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of a man?  A man I've never seen before. His head was upside down wearing a tuxedo, he was just standing there still as a Statue. That’s when I knew I should run, but I didn't. My body was frozen in fear. I blacked out, waking up in my bed. Was that a dream?

Tuesday 9 June 2020

Week #37 100WC - Taine

Gold bars stacked to the roof, Viola was in a secret room she found in an abandoned mansion. Between the gold bars was a treasure map. She was on her own, she was all by herself for the day because her friends were cheerleading. She searched long and far. The map said she would be looking for a lost ancient temple. She crossed a hill and she saw what she had been looking for. She knew this was the one because it had a beautiful reef surrounding the base. It was impossible to get to but it was beautiful to see.

Week #35 100WC - Caspar

Cold.

Frosty

Fresh.

The trees were hunched and barren. The sun had just emerged.

The landscape was deformed and endless. A river ran peacefully through the valley as the sun reflected on the glistening water. Barty decided to take his dog, Cinnamon, to the river's edge. Cinnamon trudged up to a slight cliff on the river's edge… The ground was unstable and s started to give way... Cinnamon went tumbling into the icy water below! Barty quickly snapped into action and dived in after him. He caught up to Cinnamon and dragged him to shore. After all that excitement, they headed home.

Week #35 100WC - Eva

Breathing with smoke I quietly listened to the glistening of the river streaming like a current. Tiptoeing across the cold wet rocks, I shivered in the cold winter morning. Over and over, my dog barked like she was trying to tell me something. Suddenly the sound of a big splash filled the area, I quickly turned around determined to know what the sound was. I thoroughly searched the water, but there was nothing to be seen. Out of nowhere my dog came out of the water dragging another dog.I couldn't believe my eyes. My dog was a hero.

Week #35 100WC - Lydia

I was strolling down the river. The river was so peaceful and reflected the sky and trees in the water. In my sight I saw nothing but the river and the beautiful plants. That was until I wanted to head back. There were so many people and they were so loud. They were so annoying and they were hassling me like I was theirs. I was trying to escape back home, but they just kept sprinting at me and just continued to hassle me. When my owners came into my sight, they were just strolling and told off the kids who were hassling me I was so happy that she stopped them from hassling me.

Week #35 100WC - Jacob

The dog is standing, staring at the water. The dogs ears are whirling with the wind. Harmonious water flowing down the river. The trees, not a whistle. The dog is staring at the water with such stillness. Crickets racketing in the dewy grass. No ones moving, just stillness. the scene, the mountains, the river, the dog. But then the dog sees something… he pounces into the water. There's an eel, but he doesn't get it. It swims away and the dog walks out of the water and walks away. Calm mountains, calm water, calm trees, calm animals. The dog is sad.

Week #35 100WC - Ruby

My feet wade through the icy water. The river flows downstream, before ending in a waterfall. That is our destination. I can even hear the rush of water not far away. Above me, are bare branched trees, shadowing over the river like extended fingers. We came from the mountains, which I can now see in the distance, covered in thick snow and ice. Buster is standing on the bank over the river, acting like a watchdog. I dip my bottle into the cold water, filling it up to the top. After a quick refreshment, we will be on our way.

Week #35 100WC - Mikayla

One day I woke up to a nice calming sound, it was the sound of a river that I hadn't noticed before. I followed the sound of the water and eventually I found the river. I slowly walked closer and closer to the river, eventually I couldn't walk anywhere or I would of fallen into the river. I sat on a rock and enjoyed the peaceful sound of the water flowing and the trees camelly moving from the wind. I spent most of the day there but I had to go home before my mother found out I was gone.

Week 35 100WC - Olivia

We walk in the shallows of the river, Jackie and I with Paige scampering in front. I weaved through the trees. Passing my hand across the bark. Trying hard to recognize them. I’m finally at peace. Away from the city, cars and fuss. The trickling of the water as it rushes down the hill, only to meet it’s fate at sea. Paige starts barking frantically. It's probably just a rabbit, nothing to worry about, but as I come closer it seems much bigger now. Then Paige stops. Jackie gasps and she disintegrates along with Paige. Now I’m on my own.

Week #33 100WC - Grace

Three friends turned on the camera as they walked into the abandoned hospital, that was said to be haunted. Stepping in the waiting room they felt a chill going through their body as they shivered in the cold. Moving into other rooms, Kate, Alex and Erica hear the sound of deafening screams echoing through the cold night. Kate screamed as Erica thought they must be the screams of the patients who once lived there.

An hour went past as the air got frosty so they walked home. The sound still haunts them.

Week #33 100WC - Olivia

Laughter vibrated through the deserted street. Wet shoes slapped against the even wetter concrete; the smell of mould drifted through the night air. I stepped into the dim light of a street lamp and looked down at my shadow. The outline blurred against the ever changing water. It reminded me of home. I suddenly felt a chill crawl up my spine. Jack decided he was going home so we said goodbye and continued. Rounding the corner we came to a stop. That's when we heard it, the deafening screams echoed through the cold night. I really hoped Jack was alright.

Week #33 100WC - Ruby

The deafening screams echoed through the cold night. As I heard the sound of gunshots, my ears started to ring. I panted as I ran, struggling to keep at a fast pace. Bodies were scattered everywhere, some still fighting for their lives. Tears welled up in my eyes. I wanted to help. Many people had bad gunshot wounds, deep cuts and gashes, with giant pools of blood swarming around them. Soon, they would die. But there was nothing I could do for them. I kept running. I had to focus on what was ahead. The war was not over yet.

Tuesday 12 May 2020

Week #33 100WC - Caspar

It was a chilly, breezy night in a dark forest. There lay a young bear, motionless on the dense, solid ground. Deformed, crooked branches  hung over the bear. The bear had lost his mother a few days before and had nowhere to go. The night went on and on. Ravens sat in the branches screeching. The deafening screams echoed through the cold mysterious night… Then he heard some vague footsteps… They came closer and closer. He shrank into the undergrowth and then he realized it was his mother! She had come back searching for him. They trudged home happily together.

Monday 11 May 2020

Week #33 100WC - Lydia

“BOOM!” The thunder woke us all up. Where was dad? I looked all around the neighborhood but he was nowhere to be found.  As I walked home the deafening screams echoed through the cold night.  “DAD, WHERE ARE YOU?” I screamed.  I got back home and collapsed on my bed and starting pouring out with tears. Mum came into my room and asked if I could tell her what was wrong and sulked and where dad was, but Mum didn’t answer, she just left the room.  I followed her and she saw me and threw me on my bed.

Week #33 100WC - Mikayla

Chappie and Danai went hiking on Mount Trapezi. As night was falling, they set up their camp underneath a large spruce tree on a flat, grassy surface. After setting up their camp, they lit up their campfire and started telling each other funny stories. You could hear a tiny echo from their voices, so they decided to scream as loud as possible and the only thing you could hear was the deafening screams echoing through the cold night. Unfortunately all the screaming caused an avalanche, which swept them and their campsite down the mountain landing in their backyard.

Wednesday 6 May 2020

Week #32 100WC - Olivia

Vengeance pulsed through my body, anger ran through my blood, we disappeared into the night. A siren drifted through the cold night air. Johnny was smiling at me as we stalked through the woods but I kept my head up. I didn’t want him to know. For all he knew we were going to meet up with Abby but the truth, it was too hard to tell him; there was no way he would trust me ever again but it had to be done. I wasn’t a normal girl and I couldn’t break it to him now, not just yet.

Week #32 100WC - Caspar

A little toucan called Bill lived happily in a nest with his caring mother at the top of the canopy. One dark night Bill's mother went missing! He was worried about her. He set out into the damp forest below to search for her.

“Mum!?” he yelled. Suddenly a bush moved and two figures emerged…

“Hh Hello?” Bill asked.

“Hi sweetie, what are you doing out here?”

“I came looking for you, what were you doing?”

“We’ve been foraging for berries.”

“Who's ‘we’?” Bill asked.

“My friend Barbara and I.”

“Can I join you?”

The trio disappeared into the night.

Week #32 100WC - Mikayla

My friends and I decided to meet up at the park. When we all arrived, we started playing hide and seek. As we disappeared into the night to hide, you could hear animal sounds all around you: owls, crickets and cats meowing. The seeker, though trying to be as quiet as possible, was not successful as you could still hear his footsteps. When the seeker found someone he made a loud noise to scare them, throughout the game he was scaring other players, they would get scared and give a hint to where they were. Once we saw the sun starting to rise we went home.

Week #32 100WC - Ruby

A shade of deep blue faded into the inky night sky. Stars spread around in clusters, illuminating the forest below. Josh and I sat outside, gazing at the view, as a fresh wind blew. It was the perfect place to live! We had a forest, lots of trees to climb in, and a beach nearby. We loved exploring.
“Let’s go!” Josh whispered to me.
“What if Mum and Dad wake up?” I said quietly.
“We’ll be back before sunrise,” Josh said. Before I could reply, Josh was sprinting into the distance. I followed after him. We disappeared into the night.

Thursday 30 April 2020

Week #31 100WC - Ruby

Moonlight shone like a ray of sun, through the dark, night sky. The moon was full, with a bright yellow hue, illuminating all to see. There were no stars in sight. Just a deep purple and blue, fading into a mist below the hills. A tree stood alone, gazing at the beautiful scene. It’s branches were dense, and bare. As if it was befriending the bare tree, the mist spread around it, covering it like a blanket, like it was comforting it. As I watch from my bedroom window, I can only think about one thing. Nature really is amazing.

Week #31 100WC - Olivia

The moon slithers through the tree branches, illuminating all the cracks in the dry ground. A wolf howls in the distance - I jump, stepping on Joshua’s foot. He clamps  his teeth in pain, trying hard not to scream. Something in the bushes rustles and I whimper, trying to hide my fear from Joshua. “Ugh I hate the woods”. My stomach churns and I want to run, I want to run to the end of the world. Sending up a silent prayer while backing away from the bush. I look for Joshua and hold him tight. Waiting. And then, it leaps.

Friday 24 April 2020

Week #30 100WC - Sophie G

What does one do on a boring empty Autumn day stuck in quarantine? Housework? Homework? Bike ride? All things to do but, I have done them already. Today was weird, not bad per se. Random things happened at such ‘on queue’ times. It rained in the only dry spot in the garden, the sun shone in the only cold spot in the house, the cat’s bowls had food in them whenever they were hungry, you get the idea. “It doesn’t matter what you think, does it?” My father asked confused about what’s happening. “No, not really” I spoke too soon.

Week #30 100WC - Sophie

I was driving along the countryside when I noticed a sign that said $5 a kilo for any fruit of your choice. I thought to myself let's go check it out. I turned the corner and parked up. As I got inside the shop I got distracted by the aisle of seeds. There were all different kinds of seeds; flowers, fruits, trees and more. I got really interested in all the different seeds there were and tried to look at some that were on the higher shelf. As I was doing this I stumbled backwards and kicked a hole in the wall.

Week #30 100WC - Olivia

I kicked the sign. It swayed as I stalked away. A flower seeped through the crack in the pavement, the sun seemed to lift it, giving it hope. I stared at the flower,a smile crept across my face. Remembering that I had somewhere to be I shuffled on. There were patches of wet cement trying to fill the holes. I waited at the bus stop until the bus bumped it’s way to a stop. I stepped in. There were so many people. I gave the ticket to the bus driver and sat down. This was going to be interesting.

Monday 20 April 2020

Week #30 100WC - Ruby

“Trust me, don’t go ahead with the experiment!” I say desperately.
“It doesn’t matter what you think, does it?” The tone of his voice was humorous.
“One little drop of that serum, the lab would be destroyed.” I shiver as I talk, trying to forget about the gun pointed to my head.
“Just shut your gob!” he shouts angrily. We watch from the viewing room as he releases the serum on the experiment. Suddenly, a colossal creature rises above us. Terrified screams echo around the lab, as everyone watches in fear. The creature roars. The gun is lowered. I run.

Friday 17 April 2020

Week #29 100WC - Alex

Getting ready for the stunt. He goes for it, OWWW that would’ve hurt. He's gone straight into the roof of a house. Everyone's running over to see if he is OK. They started breaking the windows and they got him out. He had a broken arm and broken leg. They rushed him straight to the hospital. He needed to go under surgery. Once he had come out, he had a prosthetic arm and leg. The doctor said he couldn’t do stunts for at least 10 years. Someone drove him home, everyone felt bad for him. He turned on the TV.

Week #29 100WC - Jacob

So one day I was driving my car and I was not looking where I was going. Next minute I go through a portal and end up on someone's well, in someone's roof. Funny story. Well it went crazy on the news not because I flew right into a roof but because portals aren’t real. Well they are now but people say their not. Which obviously they haven’t seen one. So they fixed my car and it cost a lot, around 10k but the news was interested in getting more money, plus views so they gave me 3m dollars to be on their show, and there I was rich and happy.

Week #29 100WC - Caspar

Once there was a man whose dream was to make a flying car. It wasn't the nicest looking car, but who needs a nice looking car when you have a flying car?! So after months of work the vehicle was finally finished, but he needed some way to launch it up into the sky. He decided to make a huge ramp in his house to launch it from. He still hadn’t made a hole in the roof for the car to fly out of. Unluckily he forgot to put the brake on and the car went slamming through the roof!

Week #29 100WC - Olivia

The car came crashing onto the brown house. Splinters rained down. Her skin seemed to boil but that didn’t bother her, nothing did. She took a step forward, her pearl white eye bulging, her hair flying in all directions, destruction left in her wake. Others joined her, including Tyler! She got up and ran towards him, arms outstretched. He embraced her and steered her away from the chaos, attempting to explain what was going on but she told him how scared she was first. Stumbling on words he told her about the betrayal, the adventure. He told her about everything...

Thursday 16 April 2020

Week #29 100WC - Ruby

Driving through the streets, I was anticipating arriving at our destination! I imagined lying on a hammock, a view of crystal clear water beyond me. That was my idea of a holiday. Mum and Dad were in the front of the car, chatting away, while I was daydreaming to myself. All of a sudden, the car started to shake. I screamed "EARTHQUAKE!" And then it stopped. We were no longer shaking, but levitating. Up and up we went, then BAM!
"Okay, anything else you can remember?" asked the policeman. I mumbled.
"I think that's enough for today," the nurse replied.
